Sustainability

The use of naturally beautiful woods, durable finishes and reclaimed materials are at the core of Acronym’s design ethic.  Creating lasting pieces for generations-to-come is our definition of sustainability.

All of the wood used in Acronym pieces is pre-consumer, post-industrial reclaimed material.  Depending on species, the wood comes from different sources, but all would otherwise be cast off.  Instead it is thoughtfully incorporated into the design of each piece, highlighting the unique character of the material in a carefully composed manner.  The stainless steel and aluminum bases are 100% recycled and recyclable.  Naturally-derived oils instead of heavy stains highlight the natural beauty of the woods.  Finishes are carefully selected to offer the best long-term defense against the elements.  For this reason, not all products used are water-based, since many of these products sacrifice durability and quality.  Instead, Acronym delivers the longest-lasting products with the least overall environmental impact.
